Pastor Osmond C. Jones

 

 

 
Elder Osmond C. Jones was born to the late Elder John Albert Jones Jr. founder of the Rehoboth Church of God In Christ and Mother Mary Louise Jones on May 6, 1963. He has been married to Leslie Michelle Jones for thirty and the father of four sons; Desmond, Demari,  DiJon, DaShaun, and one daughter, Fallon.  
 
Elder Jones is a graduate of Chicago State University.  He has excelled in various positions in the insurance industry as he climbed the corporate ladder for over twenty years.  Elder Osmond C. Jones was called to the ministry in March of 1998 and ordained an Elder of the Church of God In Christ in March of 2000 under the auspices of Bishop Ocie Booker prelate of First Jurisdiction of Illinois.
 
Elder Osmond C. Jones has served the Rehoboth Church of God In Christ  in many capacities;  local minister of music for 20 years, Sunday School Superintendent, Chairman of the Deacon’s Board for 12 years, President of Board of Directors and served as the assistant pastor to his late brother the Elder Bruce A. Jones. He also served as the Minister of Music for the Bishop Ithiel Conrad Clemmons District Choir. and Vice President of the First Jurisdiction of Illinois State Choir. Elder Osmond Jones was saved in 1981under the pastorate of his father, Elder John Albert Jones and baptized with the Holy Ghost during the tent revival of the First Jurisdiction of Illinois Holy Convocation in August, 1986. 
 
 
Elder Osmond C. Jones was appointed Pastor of the Rehoboth Church of God In Christ in March, 2001 by Bishop Ocie Booker prelate of First Jurisdiction of Illinois.    It is through his position as servant/leader that the vision of the Rehoboth Church of God In Christ has carried on.  Elder Osmond Jones has launched mentoring programs for our young men and young women of the church and community.  The young men, who are called the Joshua Crew, are instructed using the motto: Iron sharpeneth iron.   The young women are called, the Doves and are taught how to be young ladies of excellence and grace.  Each year Elder Jones and the Rehoboth Church host a Back to School Festival for the community and gives away book bags, school supplies, games and prizes for the residents of our area.  In 2012 Rehoboth Ministries Church of God in Christ relocated to Park Forest, IL and continues to flourish and grow under his direction and leadership.
